DESCRIPTION:Mark your calendar\, reserve your seats\, and join us for a celebration of life\, of beauty\, and moments of childhood simplicity - a true celebration of the art of dance! \n\n \nCelebration of Dance is a family-friendly fusion of classical and new works. At only $12 for students/seniors and $15 for adults\, it's an afternoon of fine arts you won't want to miss.\n\n \n\nEach performance features:\n\n \n\nVictoria Vittum's Storybook Fantasy - A favorite of our youngest patrons\, and a special trip down memory lane for the adults\, kick off the afternoon spending some time with your favorite storybook characters\, including Raggedy Ann and Andy\, the Cat in the Hat\, Snow White\, and many others!\n\n\n \n\nPaquita - A fiery\, energy-filled classic by famous choreographer Marius Petipa\, Paquita will delight with its Spanish flair\, its grand corps de ballet\, and principal guest artists from Ballet Idaho\, HRB alumna Elizabeth Keller and Andrew Taft.\n\n \n\n\nShostakovich Suite - Join us for Houston Repertoire Ballet's premiere of Steve Brul 's Shostakovich Suite\, an elegant yet playful ballet inspired by the ballerinas of famous painter\, Edgar Degas.\n\n \n\nPlus\, two new pieces by emerging choreographers Leah Smith and Rebecca Webb. \n\n \n\nFor more information\, visit www.hrbdance.org.\n\n\n\n\nFor information on group discounts\, call the Box Office: 281-940-HRB1 (4721).\n\n \nMajor funding provided by Houston Endowment\, Inc and ConocoPhillips Company. \n\nCelebration of Dance is funded in part by a grant from the Texas Commission on the Arts through the Houston Arts Alliance.
