"Life is Sweet" Fundraiser Debuts in Houston to Benefit Best Buddies Texas!

"Life is Sweet" is Houston's most highly-anticipated and deliciously creative new fundraiser benefiting Best Buddies Texas.  Houston's top local bakers will be paired with buddies, young adults who have intellectual and developmental disabilities, to create custom desserts and cupcakes.  Guests will be treated to samples of the desserts, and have an opportunity to vote for their favorites.  To accompany the sweets, guests will also be treated to wine and a selection of savory hors d'oeuvres.

The goal of the "Life is Sweet" event is to showcase the abilities, not disabilities of those who are intellectually or developmentally delayed.  It's a playful nod to current television cooking shows such as Cupcake Wars and Celebrity Cook-Off.  This event provides an exciting opportunity for one to one social interaction between buddies and bakers, and gives the community a chance to see and sample their delicious creations.
