Registration Deadline for the 18th Magnolia Showdown BBQ

March 16 is the registration deadline for the 18th annual Magnolia Showdown BBQ Cook-off., hosted by Magnolia Area Chamber of Commerce.This event is scheduled for March 30-31 at Unity Park. This event is sanctioned by the International Barbecue Club of America.
 
For the first time this year a dessert division has been added. Retuning to this year's competition is the margarita contest, along with the traditional categories of beans, chicken, ribs and brisket.
 
Wild game and margaritas will be judged on Friday, March 30, with an entry fee of $20 each. Judging for all other categories will be on Saturday, March 31, with a $2,000 payout.
Entry fee is $200 per team, extra space is available for $50
 
Move-in begins noon Thursday, March 29, and extends through 6 p.m. Friday, March 30. Spaces are limited to 40 by 30-feet. No electricity is provided but water is available.
