Tidy Up Tomball’s 3rd Event Achieves Record-Breaking Success and Affiliate Status with Keep Texas Beautiful

TOMBALL, TEXAS – November 4, 2024 – Tidy Up Tomball proudly announces the tremendous success of its third community cleanup event, held on Saturday, November 2nd. The event saw an inspiring turnout of 307 volunteers, who collectively removed an astonishing 5,600 pounds of trash from the streets and rights-of-way of Tomball. This effort filled seven full pickup truck beds, each averaging about 800 pounds of debris—an impressive five times the amount collected during the previous cleanup event, where 1,000 pounds of trash were gathered.

This event not only showcased the community’s dedication to maintaining a cleaner and more beautiful city but also provided the perfect platform to announce Tidy Up Tomball’s achievement of becoming an affiliate with Keep Texas Beautiful. As an affiliate, Tidy Up Tomball will benefit from resources, training, support, and networking opportunities provided by Keep Texas Beautiful to help plan and execute local environmental programs effectively. This recognition positions Tidy Up Tomball and the City of Tomball as key players in the statewide effort dedicated to fostering cleaner, more beautiful, and resilient communities in Texas.

A highlight of the day was the presentation of the first-ever Tidy Up Tomball Girl and Boy Scout Badges to six participating troops, underscoring the organization’s goal of inspiring youth to prioritize environmental stewardship.

President Amanda Trickey said, “We are thankful for all of the volunteers who showed up ready to work rain or shine—luckily the rain held out for us—it was exciting to see such a large crowd and hear Lori Klein Quinn, our Mayor, announce that our event has drawn in the largest volunteer numbers for an event in the City of Tomball.”

Tidy Up Tomball extends its gratitude to all 25 sponsors, with special acknowledgment to Tidy Up Partner, Salem Lutheran Church, for their generous support. Special thanks were extended to the City of Tomball Public Works, Police, and Fire Departments for their support in making the event successful and ensuring safety. This event’s success is a testament to the power of community collaboration and the shared dedication to a cleaner, more vibrant Tomball.
